Eventworks is a student run organization specializing in experimentation that produces events and exhibitions on and off of Massachusetts College of Art and Design campus. Since 1977, Eventworks has serviced the Massart community and the local Boston area.

With a focus on technical prowess, our Eventworks cohort sought to create transformative events using interactive technology, absurdism, and play. We fostered collaboration within the MassArt community, presenting installations, shows, and experiments to the Massart and Boston area.

The Events Line Up:
Over the course of a year, our Eventworks team worked on producing a total of 32 events. Of those 32, we spearheaded eight events in our Eventworks Festival lineup.
Our events combined technical prowess, immersive experience, and audience participation. The Eventworks 22/23 lineup is as follows:

Little Shop of Horrors: Live
Little Shop of Horrors: Live brought to you an interactive event filled with puppets, props, and man eating plants. A shadow cast acted and danced along with the movie. Audience members were given grab bags to participate in the fun with the shadow cast.

VideoStore
VideoStore was an immersive transformation of space that positioned gallery work in the context of a 1980s video rental store. The store was staffed with employees that acted as original characters to guests. VideoStore brings you along to unravel the story surrounding the employees, the manager, and a malevolent monster.

Morris Worm Presents:
The Fork Collapse
The Fork Collapse was a generative audio mixing and projection concert style performance. All of the music was algorithmically generated while the projections were generated from video of the audience.

Blart Side of the Mall
Blart Side of the Mall transported audiences into the psychedelic showing of Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 synced to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The movie was an enjoyable immersive experience complete with a light show that went along with the album.

During SIM alum Brian McCook's Artist Talk, colleges of the Fenway students asked Brian questions about his time at MassArt and his career as the drag persona Katya. L.O.A.F.S.
In commemoration of the original Loaf of 1985, L.O.A.F.S. was a fast paced event full of original Loaf photos, absurdist performances, and crackers. The event sought to be a reclamation of space just as the original Loaf had done in 1985.

Vendorama
The 2023 Vendorama was the second installment of an off campus vendor faire for MassArt artists. Over 20 artists got the chance to sell their work as performers entertained for the duration of the event at atac in Framingham, MA.

Lost Woods
With a focus on sustainability, Lost Woods sought to bring about themes of life and nature. During the event, there was a boutique full of sustainable goods and a DJ for the dance club experience. A giant 30ft tree was constructed as the center piece to the space.
